Our Military Family

I come from a deep rooted military family with my grandfather, dad and brother serving in the US Navy; my sister who recently retired from the US Army and I am the wife of a member of the Oregon Army National Guard who is currently deployed.  When my husband is not deployed he serves full-time in the Oregon Army National Guard (with over ten years of active duty Army under his belt.)

We are proud parents of three children ages 8, 15 and 17.  Our teenagers serve as members of the Oregon National Guard Teen Panel.
We are all proud to be part of a military family.  We want to share our experiences with other military and non-military families alike.  And, we want to share some of the challenges we face as a National Guard family with a husband/father on deployment.  We face unique challenges because we don't have the benefit of being close to a military base and part of a military community.  So....we make it up as we go.  When we find someone with similar circumstances we lean on one another.  For military families, spouses, and children - we hope you find some resources available to you.  And, we hope you enjoy reading our experiences.

This blog will include my daily journal as a military wife and a journal written by our daughter, Tiffany, about her experience as a military teen.

We have a great deal of love for our family and for our country.  God Bless America and may God Bless You!

All of our Love,
Household Six
